Email Marketing Specialist

We are seeking a results-driven Email Marketing Specialist to join our marketing team and lead our email and SMS marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing multi-channel campaigns that drive customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of email marketing best practices, automation workflows, and data-driven optimization strategies across both email and SMS channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Development & Execution
- Design, build, and deploy email and SMS marketing campaigns across various customer segments and lifecycle stages.
- Create compelling copy and collaborate with the Design team to develop visually appealing email templates and SMS/MMS messages.
- Develop and maintain automated drip campaigns, welcome series, abandoned cart sequences, and re-engagement campaigns.
- Coordinate campaign calendars and ensure timely delivery of promotional and transactional communications.
Data Analysis & Optimization
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics including click-through rates, conversion rates, and ROI.
- Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, send times, and SMS messaging to optimize performance.
- Generate regular reports and provide actionable insights to stakeholders on campaign effectiveness.
- Use analytics to identify trends and opportunities for campaign improvement and audience segmentation.
List Management & Segmentation
- Manage subscriber databases and maintain data hygiene across email and SMS lists
- Develop and implement segmentation strategies based on customer behavior, demographics, and purchase history.
- Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA) and SMS marketing guidelines.
- Grow subscriber lists through lead magnets, opt-in campaigns, and integration with other marketing channels.
Technology & Platform Management
- Manage email marketing platforms (such as Klaviyo, Braze, SendGrid, or similar) and SMS marketing tools.
- Integrate marketing automation tools with CRM systems, e-commerce platforms, and other marketing technologies.
- Stay current with platform updates, new features, and industry best practices.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with the Technology team when necessary.
Strategy & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Marketing, eCommerce, Sales, and Product teams to align email and SMS strategies with overall business objectives
- Develop customer journey mapping to identify touchpoints for email and SMS engagement.
- Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns with targeted messaging strategies.
- Contribute to overall marketing strategy with insights from email and SMS channel performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or related roles.
- Proven track record of managing successful email and SMS marketing campaigns.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms and customer relationship management systems.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms (Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable, or similar).
- Experience with SMS marketing platforms (Twilio, Postscript, Attentive, or similar).
- Strong understanding of HTML/CSS for email template customization.
- Knowledge of marketing automation and workflow development.
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Triple Whale, platform-specific analytics).
- Experience with A/B testing methodologies and statistical analysis.
