Recovery is very important as a student athlete. OOFOS are a great part of my recovery because they’re helping just by wearing them.” -Olivia Thompson, Junior.

For Olivia, prioritizing active recovery has been part of her routine as a young athlete. She developed a severe case of plantar fasciitis from playing basketball and was introduced to OOFOS by her mother.

Olivia is an advocate for active recovery to her teammates, practicing dynamic stretches, mobility, and flexibility exercises off of the court. In the training room, you will find her taking full advantage of the recovery tools that her facility offers, including ice tubs, foam rollers, and compression boots.

A typical college athlete takes over 10,000 steps a day on average while walking around campus. With that said, Olivia frequents hard surfaces like concrete, asphalt, and even the historic brick streets of Columbia, South Carolina just to get to and from class and practice. These unnatural surfaces add extra stress to the body. While wearing OOFOS, the OOfoam technology will absorb 37% of impact from Olivia’s muscles and joints, therefore de-loading that extra stress from her body and feet. This is a crucial step in Olivia's recovery process so she can feel recovered for her next practice or game.
