Take a Spring Morning Walk
Spring is a time of awakening. Birds flock back into town and start to wake up earlier and earlier. Streams and rivers flow stronger as waters from far away melt into their waterways. This is the perfect time for an awakening of your own.
Instead of going straight from bed to breakfast to work, take 5 minutes to go outside and appreciate all aspects of spring’s awakening.
Plant a Garden
If you have the land for it, think about starting a garden. Make sure to take some time to fertilize the soil. Decide whether you’d rather grow vegetables, fruits, flowers, or maybe a few of each. Within a few months you’ll have beautiful flowers to place in a vase on the dinner table while you eat the food you grew.
Visit an Arboretum or Botanical Garden
Ever wonder what kind of flowers, plants, and trees are in full bloom this time of year? Visit a local arboretum or botanical garden and learn about the native horticulture you’re surrounded by every day.
Have a Picnic
Find a park, beach, or mountainside to lay down a blanket for a picnic beneath the warm spring sun. The key to a good picnic? Putting it on the calendar, or at least being flexible enough to actually make a spontaneous picnic a reality. It’s one thing to think about how nice a picnic would be; it’s another thing to actually do it.
Splash in a Puddle (On Purpose)
Spring showers don’t have to keep you inside. Embrace your inner child and find a puddle to splash around in. It could be part of a spring-shower run or just a dash out of your front door with nothing but a bathing suit on.
Here’s to an incredible spring!
