A lot of you probably know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For countless companies, raising money for cancer research is just another philanthropic cause, or a way for them to implement "cause marketing" in their organizations. During the month of October, companies jump on the breast cancer awareness bandwagon, but for OOFOS, it’s very different.
In October of 2014, Duncan Finigan, one of the leaders of the OOFOS team and the head of marketing/ brand awareness, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, or what she and her doctor refer to as “treatable, non-curable cancer”. Only two years after the launch of the OOFOS brand, the founders decided to take the company mission of “make yOO feel better” and truly stand behind it. The OOFOS team vowed do whatever they could to make Duncan feel better and joined her on her mission to help fund a cure for metastatic breast cancer from the moment of her diagnosis.
PROJECT PINK
From there, Project Pink was born. The OOFOS team decided to take some of our best selling styles and put a pink logo on them. For each pair sold on oofos.com, we donate $10 to breast cancer research. Research dollars are imperative to keep finding solutions to help Duncan, and all of those who are fighting breast cancer, feel better and keep living their lives to the fullest.
We work tirelessly to get the word out about Project Pink 365 days a year… but we’re stepping it up and doing something a little different this week. We’re launching our first ever Project Pink Week!
